Sir Philip Anthony Hopkins CBE (born 31 December 1937) is a Welsh actor, film director, and film producer. He has received many accolades, including two Academy Awards for Best Actor, four BAFTAs, two Emmys, the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a British Academy Television Award. In 1993, he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for services to the arts. Hopkins received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2003 and the BAFTA Fellowship for lifetime achievement from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts in 2008.
Anthony Hopkins spent two years serving in the Royal Artillery with the British Army. âA Bridge Too Farâ was released in 1977. He played Lieutenant Colonel John Frost, Commanding Officer, 2nd Battalion The Parachute Regiment, 1st Parachute Brigade, 1st British Airborne Division at Arnhem road bridge.
