Abd al-RaḥmÄn al-DÄkhil, (died October 15, 961, Córdoba), first caliph and greatest ruler of the Umayyad Arab Muslim dynasty of Spain. He reigned as hereditary emir (âprinceâ) of Córdoba from October 912 and took the title of caliph in 929.
Israel Putnam (January 7, 1718 â May 29, 1790), popularly known as “Old Put”, was an American army general officer who fought with distinction at the Battle of Bunker Hill during the American Revolutionary War (1775â1783). Morrison was commander of the U.S. naval forces in the Gulf of Tonkin during the Gulf of Tonkin Incident of August 1964, which sparked an escalation of American involvement in the Vietnam War. He was the father of Jim Morrison, the lead singer of the rock band The Doors, who died in July 1971.
