Barry R. Culhane, who served the nation, Rochester community, and Rochester Institute of Technology for more than five decades, died unexpectedly on November 13, 2022 in Florida. A native of Rochester, Barry was born October 13, 1946.
He served as a medic in the United States Army from 1969 to 1971 and was a veteran’s advocate for the rest of his life. He had a 47-year career at Rochester Institute of Technology. Barry was president of the not-for-profit corporation that raised the money and built The Vietnam Veterans Memorial of Greater Rochester located in Highland Park and he was Chairman of the Committee that built the Rochester New York Gold Star Family Memorial Monument at White Haven Memorial Park.
Barry Culhane was a great supporter, mentor and generous donor to The Military History Society of Rochester.
Barry will be missed by all who knew him!
